Here in Missouri we've had quite a bit of snow in the last two weeks. How much snow, you ask? I have no idea - somewhere between 10" and 12 feet is probably close to accurate.

The snow is beautiful (before it gets all slushy and muddy) and I love to look at it (from indoors where it's warm), but friends, I am absolutely dying for summer to be here!

Look how lonely our toys are - just begging for the snow to melt and playtime to begin!

Pitiful, aren't they? Soon enough, toys. Soon enough.

Why anyone would pay money to take a trip into a place that is freezing cold is totally beyond me because this is just miserable. Maybe it's because I'm less of an adventurous type and more about relaxation. Ask me to work up a sweat putting on 6 layers of clothing so I don't get frostbite? No. Just no. Alaskan cruise? Nah! Skiing in the mountains? Absolutely not!

Give me an umbrella drink and a lounge chair in the sunshine? Now we're in business! If I could be anywhere right now I would definitely be on a beach in my momsuit, layering the sunscreen on my ultra-pale husband, watching the kiddos splash in the waves.

Where would you like to be right now?

*****
PS Why didn't anyone tell me that snow is like crack for daschunds? Outside for 5 minutes and she's like a tiny brown tornado for the next twenty, and then she crashes for 3 hours.

    2. Shockingly, my kids aren't at each others throats but that may be because Granny has came over ever day. So far they have made her play truth or dare, red light green light, the Going on a Trip ABC game, the hand slap game, and the hand clap songs things (like Miss Mary Mack.. you know what I'm talking about..)Of course Jimmy had to sing the ones Grandma Joy taught you guys Jen. LMAO God love Granny because I'd have been done after Truth or Dare.

  2. I'm with you sister....maybe we need to crank up the heat to about 90 and put on some shorts & bring in the lawn chairs and pretend we are at the beach. We can have umbrella drinks and let the kids play in the tub in their suits!

  5. Hi Jennifer,

I found you through Bloggy Moms and think that a.) we think alike, b.) I also have no idea what I'm doing, c.) am envious of your Babble award, and d.) I need to follow you. Here in Kentucky, we just get cold/warm/cold/rain/warm and a lot of head colds. I'd kill for snow.

    1. Hi! I'm not used to this snow anymore! I've lived in MO my entire life and this is the first time in about 10 years that we've got more than 5 inches...bleh!

(I feel like my life is one big screwed up flow chart: Do you want to get dressed? Yes/No - choose yes and your clothes don't match, choose no and you also forget to brush your teeth for the day. I need a life coach or something!)

  7. Hi Jennifer. I love, love, love snow! I live in Maryland and two years ago we got tons of snow. No snow last year and no snow so far.... I moved from Mississippi to be in colder weather. What is going on here? I can look at your snow pics or look at some that I took here years ago to remember life with snow. Found you through Bloggy Moms. If you get a chance, cruise by makeitorfixit.com and check it out. Following you now for more snow pics. If I can't have snow, I can at least look at it.

    1. Hi Sharon! I will gladly trade the snow for some of that homemade pound cake on makeitorfixit.com! Oh man, I'm so burned out on eating Nutella straight from the jar and that pound cake is now the obsession of my sweet tooth!
